Pam Emerson is Jasper Fire Chief and manages the department made up of all volunteers: 18 trained firefighters, 7 First Responders and 4 EMTs. Emergency equipment includes an AED (automated external defibrillator), extrication and rescue equipment, a ladder truck making a three-story rescue possible, a brush truck, etc.. The department provides service to over 850 full time residents in the district plus many more part-time. Fire departments that provide and receive mutual aid for the district are: Hasty, Mt Judea, Parthenon, Deer, Mt Sherman and Krooked Kreek.
The fire department earned an ISO rating of 5/5X and is recognized as a Fire Wise community through the Arkansas Forestry Commission and NFPA.
Training is ongoing and the team continues to seek new training opportunities and new volunteers.
