Steve Hicks, Recreation Program Director, recruits children from throughout the county for baseball, softball and soccer programs, and with the help of volunteer coaches and parents, the program, in its second year, is growing.

Bradley Park began with a donation of land in 1996 from Dr. Nancy Haller and has grown over the years based mostly on donations and grants. The Stage Building was built with a Parks & Tourism grant with donated labor from the Blue Grass Festival Committee. Adventure Subaru donated $30,000 towards the baseball field, Yeager’s Junction gave funds for the dugouts, the Bushnell Family, Ozark Café, Anstaff Bank…the list goes on and on of business support, which along with community support has made the park an outdoor community center for all.

Bradley Park Fields are the home fields for the Jasper Pirates softball and baseball teams.

Adults may play Sunday afternoon ball. Volleyball is available along with tennis, and basketball. The tennis courts are being enlarged and resurfaced in 2022 with two pickle ball courts being added. Walkers of all ages are seen in the park daily, and swimming and kayaking are summer activities. Newton County Resource Council sponsors a summer camp and special events are scheduled regularly. The Buffalo River Blue Grass Festival is an annual event in the park in September.
